Vision Systems
Welcome
Welcome to VIS/Vision Systems, the research group for computer vision and image processing at the faculty Engineering Sciences of the University College Ghent. Our research group is part of KIS, an association of the following research groups within the Ghent University Association:
-
IPI (Image Processing and Interpretation), TELIN, Ghent University
-
PARIS (Parellel Information Systems), ELIS, Ghent University
-
PIH, University College West-Vlaanderen
- DDCM (Database Document and Content Management), TELIN, Ghent University
The research group Vision Systems is also a partner in GeoInvent, a unique collaboration of Ghent University (TELIN), University College Ghent and Sodiplan. Our research group develops software for the automatic recognition of objects such as traffic signs from video sequences. http://www.geoinvent.be/
Visio Systems is a member of the IOF-consortium Victoris (valorisation centre for technological optimization, research & innovation in sport) of Ghent University, which promotes the innovative use of technology in sports. http://www.victoris.be/
Research
Our research focusses on topics in the field of image and video processing and interpretation and on the hardware implementation of computer vision algorithms. A short overview of the various research topics and several applications developped in our group:
-
Recognition of scenery and traffic infrastructure
-
Shapematching with geometric primitives
-
Hardware acceleration for vision systems
-
Robust feature detection
-
Correspondence uncertainty in digital images
-
System-on-chip design for vision applications
-
Multicamera tracking and surveillance
-
